SAVANNAH - Euclide Sikes McGowan, age 87, died Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at Effingham County Hospital in Springfield, GA.
The Collins native lived for most of her life in Savannah. She was a faithful member of Bull Street Baptist Church for over fifty years and a member of the Pilot Sunday School Class. Mrs. McGowan retired from Union Camp Corporation in 1979. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louie T. McGowan.
Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn W. "Kathy" Deason of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Earl and Pat Gasque of Lady Lake, FL; four grandchildren, John Edward Deason Noralee, Timothy Joseph "T.J." Deason, Terri Vass Kevin, and Cheryl Munro Paul; nine great-grandchildren, Courtney, Amber, Erica, Michael, Parker, Josh, Sarah, Cullen, and Luke; and twelve nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday at Bull Street Baptist Church.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, remembrances be made to Bull Street Baptist Church, 17 East Anderson St., Savannah, GA 31401 or the Imperial Sugar Fund c/o the United Way, 428 Bull St., Savannah, GA 31401.
